Pyrus ussuriensis 'Tse Li'
Variety description: 'Tsu Li' ('Tse Li' or 'Su Li') is an ancient cultivar of pear from China which originates from Shandong province. Large fruit measures about 3" x 3.5". Green skin with prominent lenticels (pores). As the pears ripen, the skin changes to yellow with brown speckles. Crisp flesh, juicy and sweet with a trace of tartness and distinct aroma. Ripens early October in Connecticut. Fruit stores well. Early blooming, very showy tree. Partially self-fertile, we get a good fruit set every year without cross-pollination from another variety such as 'Ya Li'.
Yields are increased with cross pollination from another early blooming Asian pear.
This tree will reach 25' at maturity.
Site requirements: Full sun location. Asian pears will grow in a range of soil types provided the planting location is well drained. Soil pH of 6.5 is ideal.

Plant size: Grafted tree, about 2' tall with strong central leader.
